Top 3 cafes in Seminyak, Bali

1 March 2015

If you’re looking for some great places to shop, drink and eat out in Bali, Seminyak is the place to go. Boasting some of the well-known hot spots like Motel Mexicola, Potato Head Beach Club and La Plancha, Seminyak is on the cutting edge of hospitality design.

During our stay in Legian we went on a quest to find good coffee and an alternative to resort-buffet breakfasts. Venturing into Seminyak, we came across some stand-out cafes which had great food, coffee and buzzing atmospheres. Having returned to these cafes everyday for the remainder of our holiday, I would say they are my top three choices for cafes in Seminyak.

1. Sea Circus
Jalan Kayu Aya No 22, Seminya, Bali

Good food, fun vibes and awesome interiors, Sea Circus ticks all the boxes. I became addicted to the quinoa and chia seed coconut milk porridge with grilled bananas, pistachios and goji berries. The acai bowl of granola, frozen blueberries, banana, acai and bee pollen topped with fresh banana and strawberries is also delicious and leaves you feeling like your body is happy with you again.
The exterior of the building features a brightly coloured mural and coloured louvered glass windows. Pops of colour continue into the café’s interior through the pink and blue chevron-painted tables and the mint green bar. If you’re a Mister Zimi fan, you will love the waitresses’ blue geometric-patterned dresses designed by Mister Zimi.

2. Revolver Café
Jl. Kayu Aya no. 3, Seminyak, Bali

While shopping in Seminyak, we stumbled across this lane-way café and were drawn to its grungy, hipster vibes. Resembling on-trend café interiors from back home, Revolver Café features industrial, raw finishes such as polished concrete floors, timber furniture, white brick walls, and a counter clad with metal sheeting. The space references Western saloon interiors through elements such as vintage rifles hung on the walls swinging timber entrance doors and these also create a point of interest. With a breakfast and lunch menu and highly rated coffee, Revolver café provides a quality day-time hang out.

3. Café Zuchinni
Jalan Kayu Aya No. 49, Kuta, Bali 80361, Indonesia

Known for its ever-changing bar of delicious salads, Café Zucchini is a go-to for a healthy feed. The café is quite popular and salads can sell out by early afternoon so it’s a good idea to get there early and beat the lunch-time rush. Menu items are just as good; in particular the corn, zucchini and ricotta fritters. Wash it all down with a freshly squeezed juice or a refreshing frappe; I highly recommend the pineapple and mint.
